McKenzie METHOD

The McKenzie Method is an assessment and treatment technique that was created by New Zealand Physiotherapist Robin McKenzie, and is largely regarded as one of the best approaches to helping patients deal with discogenic pain (pain that is coming from discs in the spine).

In our spine we have what are called intervertebral discs. For any number of reasons these discs may become injured and start to cause pain which can present in various ways such as: low back pain, neck pain, or shooting pain down the arms/legs.

The purpose of this therapy is to help heal the injured disc and teach your body how to avoid future pain coming from the disc.  Dr. Montigny will assess your symptoms and determine if you are a candidate for this type of treatment method; if you are he will go over different exercises which you can also perform at home in order to overcome and prevent recurrence of symptoms.
